Itadori’s head turned just as the body hit the wall, some of the man’s blood splattering onto Itadori’s hand that still gripped the doorhandle. The body sunk to the ground lifelessly, a trail of blood dragging down the stone wall of the bar as he moved. The man’s hand dropped to his side, landing just a hair’s breadth from Itadori’s shoe.
“Oi!” A voice called out from behind him.
Itadori flinched, spinning round to see who had called him.
He was met with the barrel of a gun, pointing directly between his eyes.

Summary
Hitting the button, Gojo brought the phone to his ear as his mind ran through a million different scenarios. Was Megumi lying broken and bleeding on the street after having been run over by a car as he attempted to walk home by himself? Or perhaps a cursed spirit sensed the kid's cursed energy and attacked him. Gojo had only recently begun training Megumi to use ten shadows and summon shikigami; training which was nowhere near ready for the kid to defend himself against any threats.
Bracing for the worst, Gojo wasn't prepared for the first sound he heard to be that of a strange man talking.

Satoru is still, his feet riveted to the lush green grass underfoot. His throat is dry, and his tongue laps up the bitter taste of cotton and ash. With a stuttering heart, Satoru advances forward. The dead body of his kid who’d been alive just an hour ago slips from Yuuji’s grasp as Yuuji himself jolts away to throw up. Satoru doesn’t spare a reaction, gag, or nothing, his mind blank with all but one thought:
Megumi is dead.
Or, Megumi 'dies' while on an urgent mission, Gojo struggles to cope, Yuuji doesn't, and Kenjaku has the ultimate ace in his sleeve.
