Summary
I wrote this at like 3:00am based on a dream I had. So.
.Mike was touchy, it was just in his nature.
Maybe that's why, when Mike reached out, hands cupping his own, leaning in close, a murmur of “I miss you, Will. I miss us,” all Will did was squeeze back, the way he always had.
It started off the same as always, something unintentional that Will could brush off, accident touches that slowly grew into something friendly, platonic, normal. The occasional nudge of an elbow to his side, a long look and a hand reaching out to grip his shoulder. Simple. Friendly.
But now?
Now Mike couldn't seem to be able to keep his hands off of him.
It was driving Will crazy.

Will swallows, eyes focused pointedly on Mike’s long, slender fingers. The way they twist and they pull, fixing the broken strap to Will’s backpack.
Will Byers loved when Mike fixed things for him.
It was becoming a problem.
Or, Will comes up with a plan that could benefit the both of them. Mike gets to be a hero in every day life, and Will? He gets to have Mike's attention.

Summary
The first time it happens, Will classifies it as a little accident.
When he wakes, the morning sun is burning through the window onto their faces, and Mike’s cursing as he stands to close the curtains, stumbling all the way.
“Scoot over,” he grumbles, voice dry, and for a second Will can’t do anything other than sigh like a lovesick idiot. It’s a second too late for Mike, because he grumbles more words Will doesn’t catch under his breath and then physically pushes Will towards the wall to lay beside him, arm over Will’s middle. A second of silence passes, then Mike sighs, only to whine: “Fuck, my head hurts.”
Will can’t help it: he breaks down laughing, much to Mike’s offense.

Alternatively: five times Mike kissed Will, and one time Will kissed back.

Will just wants—no, he needs—someone he can be one hundred percent himself around. Someone who knows, someone who sees him, supports him, someone to share the burden of this secret. And he knows who he wants it to be: The person he’s always felt safest with, the person who always listens, who understands him better than anyone, who has never reacted badly to any of his darkest and strangest thoughts, who makes him feel like he’s not a mistake, like he’s better for being different.
Mike.
There’s no one Will trusts more, and no one he likes lying to less.
Or: Will comes out to Mike, and it goes better than he ever could've imagined.
