I don’t really think that counts as a come-on, doc.” He tried to make a joke, but it just made him sound anxious. “And what do you mean, kiss?”
McCoy suddenly sobered. “Do you know how many nerve endings are in a Vulcan hand?” He was looking with earnest curiosity at Kirk. Kirk felt himself flush. What the fuck was he talking about?
“What the fuck are you talking about?”

Eddie could see the layers and layers of tape he’d wrapped around the leg of Richie’s glasses over a month ago, shaped like a little cocoon. He reached out and touched it with the tip of his finger.
“These don’t even sit straight anymore,” he said. “Why are you still wearing them?”
Richie didn’t blink from behind the lenses until Eddie took his hand back.
“I don’t know. My life is kind of a mess right now. They feel appropriate.”
“Your life isn’t a mess, Rich.”
“It really, really is.” Richie straightened, started talking with his hands when he said, “Hey, shouldn’t you be shouting? I feel like this would be easier if you were shouting.”
“You said you’d take this seriously,” Eddie said.

Summary
Kirk and Spock are the best of friends, to the point that people are starting to think it's a little weird.
Surely Spock can be friends in the Vulcan way, and Jim can be friends in the human way, and both can get what they need from it. Jim can have his lovers and Spock can have his secrets, so long as they both know where they stand with each other.
But when an accidental telepathic link makes Spock an unwilling spectator of Jim's sex life, it gets hard to keep up the boundaries that make their friendship work.
