Summary
The fall of Castrum Kremnos was far from a magnificent demise. The screams of terror could be heard for miles as the black ink of strife consumed everything. Titankin swarmed the palace, tearing life from the walls. Everyone had fought with bravery and valour, combating what little they could, arms falling useless in the talons of the tide. Fires raged in every nook and cranny, turning every plant to ash. The luckiest died instantly, choking upon smoke or being cut clean through by titankin. The unluckiest were driven to madness as monsters preyed on them, tearing them limb from limb. Still none attempted escape. Soldiers, blacksmiths, and even children continued charging onwards, sending themselves forth with meagre weapons over and over into the tide.
Yet the ocean runs deeper than any amount of bodies that can fill it, and in no time, every living soul was consumed.
Save for one individual.
In short, an au in which Mydei has lost everything he loves, and begins to seek out death. However, he refuses to fall to someone lesser than himself, so he journeys in order to find somebody who can bring him an adequate doom.

“You,” Mydei said darkly, pointing an accusatory finger. “You’re supposed to be a part of Phainon now. Both of you.”
“I deeply apologize for the inconvenience, Mydeimos.” Khaslana said, placing a hand on his scarred and bloody chest. If the Flame Reaver had the energy to talk, Mydei thought he might have apologized as well. Instead, he merely breathed heavily in his general direction.
“And you!” Mydei whirled around. “You’re supposed to be dead! We got rid of you!”
“You cannot kill me in any way that matters.” Irontomb smiled meanly.
Beside him, Mydei watched Phainon bury his head into his hands.
Or, after a mishap with crystallized memoria, Mydei is asked and/or forced to watch over 4 different versions of Phainon until a solution can be found.
