You weren’t in bed with me, there wasn’t a wedding band on my finger, and”—his eyes flicker to Mydei’s chest, a fiery blush blooming on his face—“you’re half-naked.”
“We sleep together?” Mydei asks, surprised.
Phainon deadpans.
“We’re married.”
(Phainon finds himself in a modern Amphoreus where he and Mydei have been married for years. Mydei finds himself with a Phainon that claims the two of them are married.)

Yet the otherworldly man simply extends his hand. “The book. Can I have it?”
Reality hits him in the form of heat crawling up all the way to his face. His glasses fog up. “Oh. Ah, uhm. Yes, the book,” he squawks. “The book you requested.”

Summary
Phainon hates that Mydei gets away with everything he does: skipping class, bleaching his hair; turning Phainon’s life into a mess. Hates that he can’t help but lust after him in spite of it all, replaying his honeyed accent curling the vowels in his voice when he says Deliverer, and imagining him saying Phainon the very same way, low and tentative beneath him, and Phainon knows he’s fucked.
There's six whole months of this left until graduation, if his heart hasn’t exploded by then. Six months of pretending he hasn't thought of licking the blood off Mydei’s naked foot before biting another wound into it, wondering which colors his teeth would carve onto tanned skin — six months of pretending Phainon is normal; that he’s good.
Or: Mydei transfers to Era Chrysea Uni in the middle of the semester. Phainon is good until he isn't.

Mydei hadn’t noticed earlier, but Phainon is bleeding sluggishly from a cut on his bicep. Because of him.
“I’m… sorry," he sighs. “Your help was unnecessary—“ Phainon opens his mouth to retort, but Mydei cuts him off. “But I appreciate it.”
All at once, Phainon seems to deflate—his indignation little more than ice melting beneath Mydei’s gaze. Blue eyes dart to the rubble that was once a doorway as he sighs, low and heavy.
“There has to be a second staircase,” he says weakly. “Right?”
Or: Hours before a festival to Mnestia, Phainon and Mydei find themselves trapped in a temple during the dead of winter.

“Dressed like you’re gonna rep the fucking Lakers at a rock concert,” Cipher said, making a noise of pure distress.
Phainon is dragged against his will to a concert. He bags a rockstar boyfriend by being an absolute nerd.
