“I am going to push aside my pride for a moment, and admit to you that I have fucked up a bit. You might want to sit down for this.” He gestured to the sofa, as if it were his own home and not hers. “So I was with Theo a few minutes ago, and he tells me that he won’t pursue Potter because he doesn’t want to force us to have to socialise outside of work.”
“Oh, Theo.” She muttered, clearly feeling guilty for holding her friend back. “I thought he seemed reserved tonight. You told him it’s fine, right?"
“Yeah, so the aforementioned fuck up. Theo asked if we were together, as in like, together together. And I sort of said we were.” He winced, and she buried her face in her hands.
“Why? Why the fuck would you do that? What have I done to deserve this?” She looked up at the ceiling.
