The only way to keep the multi-verse intact and make sure it stays that way is for Doctor Strange to send Peter Parker to another universe — one where any trace of him never existed. He ends up in this crime-infested city called Gotham that may as well be a bad reenactment of Hell, especially considering that it’s in Jersey.
Peter would like it to be known that getting recruited as a goon for a drug lord was ENTIRELY accidental.
Being adopted by a bunch of bats in all ways other than legally is ALSO accidental. It all just kind of… happened.
In his defense, once you meet one, the others kind of just start piling in.

this story switches perspectives between odysseus, telemachus, and penelope showing the same events focusing mostly on telem & ody
mainly dealing with telem's trauma
the song Odysseus ends a bit differently and so ICHBW doesn't happen. now telemachus is scared of his father. both father and son deal with guilt and trauma and both hide it. odysseus wants to be a better father to telemachus and telemachus wants to be a better son to odysseus. everything between them and in themselves keeps building and building but what happens when neither can hide it anymore?

“Lower the anchor,” Eurylochus called across the deck, and the command was carried forth, echoing as the men repeated it, making sure everyone heard. “Prepare the rowboats. My brothers!” He clapped his hands once, the sound ringing clear as the waters below. “We are home.”
Odysseus wanted to beg for him not to say that. He did not dare to let himself hope, and he wanted so badly to raise his voice as well, shout at his men that they were not safe yet, that until he felt solid ground beneath his feet he would not let himself believe that this was all there was. How many times had he promised his fleet that they only had one tiny step left in front of them before they would be home? How many times had he himself thought he was so close that nothing could take away his victory?
Please don't, he wanted to say. We cannot afford to provoke fate any more.

Or: Odysseus recovers and tries very hard not to think about what happened. With the wind in their sails and every man working hard to put distance between themselves and Helios’ island, Ithaca is in sight far too soon.

“Dawww, aren’t you the most thoughtful little thing,” Hermes coos, pinching Odysseus’s cheeks until they hurt. He vaguely wonders how much strength the Olympian is holding back to refrain from tearing Odysseus’s face apart.
“I’m a grown man,” Odysseus grunts, trying (and failing) to pry Hermes’ hands off.
“And I’m thousands of years old! My little baby, that’s what you are.”

or; Hermes is sent to inform Odysseus that he has been granted permission to return home. Odysseus thinks that, once he's set sail, it'll be the last he'll see of the messenger. However, what he fails to realise is that, when earning the interest of an Olympian, that favour comes with a heavy price.
