Summary
Receiving the flight ticket to Australia was a dream come true; it was only going to be the beginning of Matsuoka Rin’s rise in his swimming career. Yeah, Rin does have a choice, but he wouldn’t give up listening to that deep, familiar voice for anything. It’s home, he decides.

She cried for two hours, and Ms. Briar made him go to the quiet chair. “One day, your mouth is really going to get you into trouble!” she’d scolded with a wagging finger.
Stiles contemplates those words as his dad’s new deputy hauls him into the station.

Summary
A figure crests the edge of the house. Stiles squints in the sparse light of the half-moon, and is shocked when he sees that it’s Derek.
“What are you doing?” Stiles asks quietly.
Derek finishes climbing up onto the roof in one graceful swoop, and then he crosses the slanted surface quickly.
“This is dangerous,” Derek greets as he takes the spot beside Stiles. “You could fall and break your neck.”
Stiles has trouble dealing with the after effects of the nogitsune, and Derek finds him sitting on his roof.

It takes him a while to actually notice it’s not just Stiles sprawled across their couch, but to be fair to him, he isn’t really thinking about anything but finally getting some sleep and maybe liberating one of the cookies that Stiles thinks are well hidden behind the microwave. He's half way to covering the boys up with a blanket when he finally notices.
That is definitely not Scott McCall.
It is in fact definitely Derek Hale. Derek Hale the 26 year old. Who his son is currently lying on, head tucked under Derek’s chin, Derek’s hands clenched in the back of his t-shirt.
