She’s hunched over on the floor of the Hokage’s office, papers radiating outwards from her in a whirlwind of white. Temari left for Suna a week ago to negotiate a trade deal with one family or another in Suna, (the lack of a solid return date does not bother her), and Sakura’s trying to not grind her teeth too loudly. It’s not like Temari is anything more than a friend to her. It’s not like what they had during the war was going to last. It’s not like she wanted it to (of all the lies Sakura tells herself, this one is perhaps the least believable.)
tldr: Temari moves to Konoha because she's down incredibly bad. Sakura refuses to see what's right in front of her

But when Madara opened his eyes again, somehow alive, only to find that he was back in the Warring Clans Era, that Izuna was still alive—it was a second chance to make things right.
Of course, it probably would have been easier if Tobirama hadn’t also, somehow, managed to end up in the past with him. (But then again, maybe not.)
