Buffy was hungry, yeah. Slaying always made her hungry, too. Hungry and -
She glanced at Faith again, taking in her smudged eyeliner and the stray curls flying away from her face. Really looked at her dark, dark lipstick, and her biceps underneath her tank top, and the tattoo on her upper arm, for the first time.
Or not for the first time, if Buffy was being honest.

Summary
Hal was slumped over his coffee table when his pager went off. He groped around blindly and peered at the screen, blurry in the dark of his apartment. The caller ID made him want to toss it right back into the ether.
“”Yello.”
“There’s a situation.” Batman’s voice still managed to growl over the tinny connection. “Headquarters, fifteen minutes.”
The line went dead.
Hal sighed.

Summary
Dick catches Jason just as he finishes patrol. One minute he's alone, standing on the rooftop taking inventory of his gear, and the next he's not. A familiar blue silhouette swings up and over the edge of the building and lands neatly beside him.
“I brought you a plant. For your new apartment.”
The lack of preamble in this family, Jesus.
“It isn’t my apartment, just a safehouse.” Jason doesn’t look up from where he’s emptying the cache on his guns.
Dick laughs, low in his throat. “Okay, Jay.”

Or: Jason's still alive, and maybe that counts for something.

Summary
Walking to the caf for tea means passing the wall of photos from when they won the Premiership, and Roy stops for a minute, like he always does, letting his eyes wander over those familiar faces. Most of them he hasn’t seen in person in years, though they still have group chats and video meet-ups and all kinds of shit that he hates that he understands.
There’s one picture at the very end, him and Jamie Tartt with their arms thrown around each other, laughing next to the trophy. Roy always lingers on that one for a moment, and thinks about how that’s another phone call he could make, and should, and has been putting off for too long.

Summary
'Photos taken this past July (below) from an anonymous source find O’Leary in line at a pizzeria in Washington, DC at half two in the morning, passionately snogging an unidentified man. Neither O’Leary nor Wolverhampton manager Julen Lopetegui provided comments by time of print.'
The rest of the article slips under a pop-up ad, but Roy’s been more than through with it once he hit the by-line. He glances up, meets Colin’s eye with a sigh, watching as he pulls the phone away to stick in a back pocket that doesn’t exist in the kit shorts.
“What are we going to do about it?” Colin says.
When another Premier League player is outed by the press, Richmond announce a charity drag show to try to steer the relentless media circus away from him.
Roy just doesn't expect it to turn his life upside-down.

Summary
"Oh," Jamie laughs. "Well, it’s November, innit?"
He says that like it’s supposed to explain why he looks completely fucking ridiculous.
Roy blinks at him.
"Mate," Jamie continues, exasperated. "Y’know, the moustache thing? Movember? It’s for, like, mental health."
"Whose fucking mental health?" Roy replies. "Because the thought of watching you try to grow a moustache sounds absolutely fucking terrible for mine."

Summary
“Hello, Uncle Roy.”
Jamie fucking Tartt is sitting next to him, smiling.
“What the fuck is he doing here?” Roy asks, simmering with rage, and a fast-approaching, overwhelming sense of dread.
“I had to invite your boyfriend,” Phoebe says, like it’s the most obvious fucking thing in the world.
Roy hears his sister let out an extremely loud snort. She’s smiling behind a hand covering her mouth, her patented Kent eyebrows raised as she looks at him. She makes no move to correct her daughter. Roy considers fratricide.
