    “I think…” Dick began “Alfred and Martha—“ Bruce’s eyebrows raised at the mention of his mother’s name “might have been having an affair?” With that Dick finally looked back up, locking eyes with his father.

    “Why would you say that?” He prodded, feeling a bit like the floor under his feet had disappeared.

    Dick had a guilty look on his face, like he was twelve years old again and Bruce had just found him with his hand down Alfred’s cookie jar.
