Only someone who's completely lost his wits and his heart would do something so unutterably stupid as to publicly contradict the High Overseer of the Abbey of the Everyman. And only someone stupider than that would go on to refuse to renounce the heresy...and accidentally begin a series of events that will permanently alter the face of the Isles.

Summary
Aymeric has clearly struck a nerve, and he folds his arms and stares at Estinien, wondering what he has done and how he can fix it. The dragoon gives him a smile which does not reach his eyes and puts his feet up on the low table in front of him as he sinks further down into the couch, ignoring the cat who lets out a disgruntled chirp and leaps to the floor when she realises she is not going to receive any scratches from him. Aymeric’s frown deepens; there is mud on his boots, staining and scratching the polished surface of the table, and he is forced to take a deep breath to keep his irritation in check.
