“You’re a wild little thing,” she hears distantly from the table. It’s said simply, matter-of-factly, and without judgement but it still engenders a nasty spark of defensiveness from within Rey.
She scowls at him from behind the plate.
But then she sees that his plate is still nearly full and unthinkingly she stalks over to him, focused entirely on the food.
She sidles up next to him, so close she can feel the heat radiating from his body. He smells good, really good, but the food in front of him smells like surviving.
Rey reaches for a chunk of meat.
His hand dwarfs her wrist as he snatches it, stopping her in her tracks. His hold on her is gentle, but firm and she growls in frustration.
“Use your words, Rey,” He whispers into the shell of her ear.
Sweat beads on her forehead as her abdomen throbs with heat, and she swallows the saliva building in her mouth.
A small, distant part of her stings with humiliation, but Rey is far too hungry to be prideful.“Please,” she begs in a whine.
