    Summary

“I think you’d be a great dad,” Eddie finds himself saying.
Imagines Steve running around chasing a honey-haired toddler. Throwing them around with strong arms. Walking under trees with them on his shoulders.
Steve looks grateful for this comment. A little close-mouthed, half-smile creeps up on him.
“I think you would be too, for what it’s worth.”
It’s worth a lot. Little does Steve know.
“Based on my sandwich making skills?”
Steve laughs. This gorgeous, weak laugh. He rests his head against the cupboard next to him.
“Yes. You were right. The meanest pb&j I’ve ever had.”
Eddie’s stomach is aching and it isn’t because he’s hungry.
The butterflies are starting to hurt, they’re that excessive.
“Told ya,” Eddie says. Wants to reach out and touch Steve’s face for some reason.
He looks sleepy. Gives a little yawn.
Eddie would quite like to carry him to bed.

In a world where being beta is preferred, alpha Eddie endures ruts alone in his dorm room and accepts his life for what it’s inevitably going to be: lonely. Until his roommate Steve lets him in on a secret of his own, and his life changes in ways he always dreamed of.

Steve couldn’t see much of his outfit past a very simple button down, black as night. Lots of rings, a few bracelets. A fucking Piaget, shining off his wrist. Calling to Steve.

“It’s some young guy,” she said. “Or, like, not super young. Our age, I think. Maybe a little older? From out of town. Or he is now, but used to be from here.”

    “What? Who is?”

“That bought the Radioshack. Turning it into a bookstore? Some guy,” Robin continued. “That’s why Vickie even knows. They were trying to keep it all hush-hush because he didn’t want to buy it without, like, zoning permissions so he could do a full scale remodel to turn it into a bookstore. Otherwise he didn’t see a point, or so Vickie said Mrs Wheeler said.”

Or: Steve owns a movie theater, and a bookstore moves in across the street.

    Summary

Steve is pulled away from his big city marketing job when a lucrative offer comes in on his old family home, only Hawkins is nothing like he remembers. In his ten year absence, the small town has transformed into a holiday wonderland.

The longer he stays in Hawkins, the more he gets reacquainted with old friends (including Eddie Munson, the summer fling he abandoned all those years ago) and makes some new ones. He also finds himself getting invested in the town's Christmas-y future and starts rethinking his plan to sell the house to a big Chicago development firm.

And as his old feelings for Eddie return, he wonders if his real mistake was running away in the first place.

    ‘Green.’

    ‘I don’t believe you.’

Steve grits his teeth, drops his head.

His hands are bound at the front, the rope of his wrists running down between his closed knees, around his cock, against his balls and under still, all the way to his ankles. Any movement of the hands drags friction. Clever design, but then Eddie always was the fucking Picasso of pain.

Steve tells himself he’d have said no to the drink.

    It’s such a fucking lie.

    Just like the green.
