He thinks about heading towards the lake, where he can lie down and look at the stars and suffer in silence, without bothering anyone. Perhaps if things get worse the Order will mercifully decide to kill him after all, will put both himself and Voldemort out of their mutual misery. It’d be a joke on poetic justice, certainly.
