Summary
No longer able to endure Valentino's abuse, Angel seeks out the gambling overlord, Husk, and begs him to make a bet for his soul. Husk is hesitant to help, worried about the political fallout and public perception.
When Husk witnesses Valentino's cruelty firsthand, he realizes he can't just abandon Angel to his fate. He goes through with Angel's request, but a regular soul contract won’t do. Instead, he binds Angel's soul to him in demonic matrimony, convincing himself that a fake relationship will keep his reputation intact and be good for publicity.
Will their marriage remain a sham, or will their mutual attraction lead to something more? Can they help each other heal the wounds they've both borne for so long? And how will they face the enemies who are determined to separate them forever?

(A partial AU where most of the canon events happen the same way except they are married the entire time).

Summary
He treasures her openly, and in ways that are draconic, of his people, soothing to that inner beast. She bears the claim with her head high. But people still form their conclusions, from legends and stereotypes and a history of mistranslations of his native tongue. They live together, upgraded from their college apartment to a small stone manor with a tower, and people don’t need to know what Oisin tried to do in his junior year of high school to imagine what that tower might be for. They’ve all read the stories.
Some long-term effects of a rage curse tapping into draconic nature, and high fantasy tropes in a suburban fantasy setting. Oisin is a good boyfriend, actually. Even if he can't always see it.
