Summary
“I’m just so proud of you, baby.” He feels a weight lifted off his shoulders- which is ridiculous, he’s ridiculous for thinking that she would be anything but proud. Nonetheless, he feels relieved. He smiles, fiddling with his fingers again.
“It’s really nothing.” He says, “Mike keeps talking about how they’re innate but…but they’re not. They’re siphoned, from Vecna.” The mention of his name makes Joyce’s eyes go wide.
“Well, last I checked no one else can do that.” She shrugs, her eyes still wide. Will chuckles, looking at the floor, “Hey, all I’m saying is that I think you need to have a little more trust in yourself.” She leans forward, putting a hand on his cheek. He leans into it, into the warmth of her hand, “You didn’t fail, okay?” She says, and he nods, even though he doesn’t really believe it, “You saved Mike- all your friends. You did that, baby.” She shakes her head, “Not Vecna, just you.”
Will can feel himself tearing up for about the millionth time that night, “I can make it right.” He settles on, “We just need a new plan, a better plan.”
Right, a better plan. Easier said than done.

Summary
They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.

Summary
“You know I support you, but can you maybe stop being horny for, like, five minutes to help me out here?”
Steve squats next to a row of candy barrels, squinting at the assortment of label cards that he’s holding like he’s playing poker. The text is usually too small for him to read without contacts (which he’s scared of) or glasses (which he insists don’t match their work uniforms), so he’s right. Robin’s been neglecting her duty as a best friend all because of Vickie’s stupid, perfect, pretty lips.
She crouches next to him and snatches the cards, harshly whispering, “I’m not being horny!”
“Mm-hm.” Steve levels her with a thoroughly unimpressed look, raising an eyebrow. “Sure. Definitely not wondering what Vickie’s lips taste like at all.”
She avoids his gaze. “At all.”
