“Epilepsy.” Tim breathed. He was already shaking his head. “But I feel fine.”
“You’re fine now,” Bruce said, his hand on Tim’s knee. “Because of the medications that you have been put on. They are helping to regulate your body, keeping inappropriate electrical impulses at a minimum.”
“Inappropriate electrical impulses.” Tim said. “Really Bruce, I’m not a child.”
“A normal child wouldn’t have understood what I just said.” Bruce countered.
Tim blinked. Then, again.
“I would have.” Tim finally said.
__________________Timothy Jackson Drake is many things.
He's brilliant, he's brave, he's Red Robin. Some might say he's a little shit, but that was neither here nor there. Well, actually, yeah, he's a little shit but whatever.
What Tim can't be is broken.
He can't possibly bring shame to the Drake name and the Wayne family. He can't possibly have epilepsy, because he is meant to be better than that, he needs to be better than that.

Summary
After being exposed to a chemical that has already hospilitilised Tim Drake, Dick Grayson is put on medical supervision that he very much does not need because he is perfectly okay. The nausea is just because he had something dodgy to eat and the dizziness is because he just hasn't had enough to drink. Not wanting his family to be needlessly hovering over him, Dick goes to his apartment in Blüdhaven instead when he absolutely feels perfectly fine and does not need help what-so-ever because he is the eldest and the others always look to him for reassurance.
Okay, maybe he's a little bit sick but it's not that bad, really.
He's fine.

Summary
It wasn’t the comfortable silences that happened when Bruce would be reading his paper while Tim sat near by on his computer, nor was it the easy silence that came when they were on stakeouts together, handing each other the binoculars.
No, this silence was heavy somehow, and it made Tim’s skin itch.
Bruce cleared his throat.
“How are you feeling, Lad?”
Tim thought about it, blinking slowly, trying to detect any form of pain or injury. His back was aching but only in the way that it did after panic attacks instead of from a fight. Distant memories hit him then, being in a bathroom, someone dragging him upright as he begged to be left alone, being checked over in the infirmary and then finally when Bruce had come in.
"I'm fine." Tim said.

Summary
Tim has always hated getting sick. He hates the haze and the pain. But, when he finds out his family is sick he jumps in to help without a second thought. However, without a spleen, he's incredibly susceptible to the illness and quickly realizes just how much he's missed out on.
Or: Tim Drakes repressed trauma followed by worried family feels and lots of comfort.
