"You could go to the Creel Museum?" She offered, pointing to a rack that boasted things to do in Indiana. Most of the excursions were much farther than Eddie wanted to drive but he was surprised he'd never noticed the very cool cover of the brochure in question.
The front cover was emblazoned with a black and white photograph of a beautiful Victorian house but below it, rather than a sprawling front yard, the house was flipped upside down like a reflection that was decayed, rundown, and covered in thick, black vines. This part of it was obviously not photographed but hand drawn for the advertised Creel Museum and below it, in smaller script, Presented by the Hawkins Paranormal Society.
"Metal." He muttered, unfolding it to read more.
Hawkins, Indiana, he learned as he skimmed it, had a museum of some sort of cryptid creature, The Demogorgon, named after a D&D monster and tied to a huge government conspiracy that nearly destroyed the town in the 70s and 80s.
Bad. Ass.
Suddenly, Valentine's day was just another day and Eddie was excited to check out a museum of a fake cryptid monster even if ninety percent of it was just drunks who saw a bear in the woods or something.

Bimmer could fit in the palm of a hand when Steve first pulled her out from beneath his hood. The kitten, a rusty orange with mottled splashes of black, had crawled inside the truck he and Robin shared custody of to escape the first snap of Indiana cold.
Two months later, she can still fit in the palm of Steve's hand.
Eddie has a lot of feelings about that.
And he would like to do something about this deeply held feeling of passionate, soul-searing love. Except that Bimmer is always around every time he tries.
AKA the 3 times Eddie tries to get with Steve only to be thwarted by Bimmer and the 1 time Steve took pity on him and helped.
