"You wanna tell him Tubbo?" Fundy called.
Tubbo looked up from the board, looking at Fundy then George.
"Tell him what?" Tubbo said.
"Why he shouldn't have taken the challenge from Clay," Fundy said.
"Oh," Tubbo said. "I saw Clay with the Botez sisters at the cafe near Spruce St yesterday. They were playing chess."
Okay. Maybe now George is a little scared.

George always hated Clay. He was always bothering George, being loud in the library, trying to distract him by sitting next to him in class, always asking what George got in their latest test. George wanted nothing to do with him.
That was until Clay decided to challenge George into an official chess match, which by their club rules, is challenging George's position as head of the chess club.
In completely unrelated events, George has also been passing notes back and forth with a secret admirer called Dream for the past few months, and he's pretty convinced he's crushing pretty bad.

"Have you ever thought about us?" George finally said and Dream repeated the sentence in his mind, unable to believe this was actually happening. George seemed to take his silence for confusion and decided to give clearance. "Like us...kissing or something."
Or something. Dream has thought about everything. Every possible thing that could involve the two of them, he had thought about it.
"Yes." He said, truthfully. George looked up and their eyes locked. This was his chance, this was the opportunity he had to be brave enough to take. He had to take a breath before asking for something he had been longing for for months. "George, do you want to kiss me?"

Dream and George meet up, sexual tension runs wild and in the end they resolve it

George finds himself often brushing his fingers over those freckles until he realizes what he’s doing and withdraws entirely. He kind of wants to shove as much distance between them as possible so he can reject the thought that he’s falling.
But he also doesn’t want that, admittedly. The soothing of everything in their busy lives at the placement of being tucked into his friend’s chest, it’s just too good. And if he did want to place a platonic wedge into their closeness, there’d have to be a conversation held.
Because Dream is guilty of pressing close just as much as he is, he can’t one day go stiff at hands pulling at him. He can’t go back to sleeping alone.

And therein lies the issue. George realizes it the second the words fall from his lips, realization flashing across his features like he’s been caught in the stage lights too. “Oh.”
Dream messed up. Like, really messed up. Like, off-the-charts-horrible-disaster-category-five-hurricane messed up. He needs a Christmas miracle to save his ass. Well, that or a kind stranger with a twinkle in his eye who just can't stop smiling.
