Kyle had always known he was never fit to be king.
"Kyle," Stan said, a bit croaky, "I'd do anything to keep you safe. Even run away with you. I'm loyal to you first, and the kingdom second. No matter what happens, who you become, whoever you make your enemy, I will always fight for you, by your side. I will be who you need me to be no matter the circumstance. I don't know what we're going to do, honestly. But as long as we have each other, I think we could achieve it."
They both locked eyes once again, and while Stan's tone was laden with exhaustion, the determined gleam in his gaze was more than enough cause for the back of Kyle's neck to flush. He always felt oddly scrutinized under Stan's gaze whenever they both made eye contact, but the sensation of being looked at with so much adoration and passion was so addicting, he could never bear to look away.

Stan knew he had no reason to be jealous. Well, no real reason. He was with Wendy and that was going fine, besides the constant argument and the feeling of monotony, but it was whatever. He was comfortable and that’s what mattered.
And Kyle being with Craig was great! They seemed happy!
And it’s not like he was interested in Kyle, he just thought Craig was a dick and didn’t deserve to be with Kyle.
