“And nobody asked,” Steve says, to which Robin nods. The casual way in which he says it makes her heart sink. “Not until we’d already committed to working these hours, anyway. Look, it’s fine, really. We’re having fun hanging out together, it’s not like we’re alone.”
But you are, she wants to argue. You’re just… alone together.
Steve and Robin are working the Christmas shift alone at Family Video, so everyone brings a little bit of Christmas to them instead.

Stevie cooked for them. Eddie played his guitar for her. It was an escape — a castle in the sky.

“Because of biology,” Steve supplies, trying to steer this thing back on track.
“Because of Vulcan biology,” Eddie sighs, and seems to give in.
“Okay,” Steve says slowly, “But what–”
“Because of Vulcan sexual biology,” Eddie grits out, and puts his face back in his hands.
So he misses how Steve goes bright red, thankfully. Given how the tips of Eddie’s ears are a vibrant green, he’s in a similar situation.
“Oh, well,” Steve clears his throat. “No shame in that, Ensign,” god, he’s fallen back on rank now, if Eddie wasn’t so clearly a mess he would absolutely make sure that Steve never lived it down. He attempts a laugh, his mouth dry. “The birds and the bees do it, after all.”
“Fuck youuuu,” Eddie groans, parting his fingers to stare balefully at Steve. “The birds and bees aren’t Vulcans, Steve.”

He finds Wayne remarkably difficult to argue with—wonders if Eddie found the same. “Tour guides don’t need guns. You point at somethin’, I shoot it. Got it, Steve?”

Summary
Steve’s TikTok algorithm gets fucked up after Dustin sends him video after video of this group of dudes playing D&D. He doesn’t even say anything, just randomly sends Steve a video as if Steve cares about that dumb dice game.
Steve doesn’t even watch most of them. He clicks the link, sees the initial shot of the game board, and swipes away with a roll of his eyes. Then he starts seeing the damn game board on his FYP. He never watches those either, but because Dustin doesn’t stop, the videos don’t stop.
So, when he’s scrolling his FYP tonight, he glances away from the screen briefly, missing the intro shot of this video, and looks back at the screen, which fills with a massive dimple-laden mischievous grin.
Steve pauses his thumb from the instinctual flick to check out the guy as the camera pans back. He has dark, curly, shoulder-length hair, but Steve can’t stop staring at the dude’s mouth. Those dimples are like exclamation marks pointing directly at some of the most DSL’s Steve’s seen in ages.
This guy is hot.

“So, about prom-” Buckley starts.
Eddie instantly cuts her off. “Still not going,” he says, fiddling with the candy display on the counter.
“I know, I know,” she says with a dismissive wave. “Steve told me to stop pestering you about it and to leave you alone.”
Eddie bites down on a smile. It’s easy to picture Steve with his hands on his hips and his best Stern Mom Look as he tells Robin to leave Eddie alone. He’s witnessed it multiple times. With the kids, and a few times with Eddie himself.
“You don’t have to come to prom with us,” Robin says. Eddie doesn’t even get the chance to do a celebratory dance before she continues. “But how do you feel about us having our very own prom?”
“Us?” Eddie asks, raising his eyebrow at her.
or Eddie refuses to go to prom so Robin suggests a fake prom at Steve’s house. There’s dancing, misunderstandings, feelings realizations, a Prom King and Queen election, and Steve acting like Eddie’s prom date the entire night

Summary
Eddie Munson marches on stage that night, glammed up and dizzy, and squawks. Right at the audience! Gone is the suave, confident frontman who wears his body like he designed it, who winks at interviewers who poke and prod at the queer subtext in his lyricism. In his stead is an extremely (unwillingly) drunk man, who cannot for the life of him remember how to be a rockstar.
It was a disaster, to say the least.
But it was also really, really funny.
(Or: Eddie Munson steps away from the spotlight and takes up hosting a radio show. He quickly strikes up a strange friendship with a frequent caller. Oh, and his neighbor just so happens to be the most beautiful man Eddie's cynical eyes have ever seen.)
