“Morgana?” Merlin asked carefully.
“How do you know my name?” this small Morgana asked."

Summary
Being with Merlin felt right.
It felt like it was meant to be. Like the spot next to him in his bed had been always waiting for him, like the excess of food he brought had always been meant to be shared, like everything — for the first time in forever — just fitted.
God, he loved him.
[•••]
And Arthur finally understood that what intrigued him so much about Merlin’s eyes. What he’d been unconsciously looking for was the gold in them.
___
Basically all of this unfolds as they follow three main plot lines:“I want to repeal the magic ban”
“I wanna marry you”
“How do you feel about kids?”Series

Summary
Everyone insisted that Arthur needed time to process, to accept that Merlin was gone. The only problem was that Merlin wasn’t.
Arthur didn’t know how to explain it without sounding like Uther when he’d seen Ygraine in the well, like he was losing his mind and looking for ghosts. He didn’t know how to look at his court and make them understand that Merlin had once told him about nature, about the sacred connectedness of the earth, and asked Arthur if he felt it. He didn’t know how to say that he hadn’t felt it back then, but that he did now. He felt it all. He felt Merlin in it.

Merlin saves Arthur's life at Camlann at the cost of his own. Merlin can't die, so it's not that simple.

Summary
Arthur has always had distant dreams of leaving Camelot. They were never more than a wistful fantasy, at least once he grew up.
Finding out about Merlin’s magic changes everything though, and not only because Arthur would do more to keep Merlin safe than he cares to admit. What follows are secrets upon secrets, allowing the dreams to slip back in as all his father’s lies unravel around him. Slowly but surely, Camelot feels less like a home and more like a gilded cage, and Arthur isn’t so certain anymore whether he’s the right person to carry this legacy. If he even wants to.
One final secret, one opportunity, and suddenly the dreams aren’t mere dreams anymore. Merlin wouldn’t be Merlin if he didn’t follow wherever Arthur goes, and as they try to outrun Uther’s manhunt for them, they have to learn to live a life that’s about more than duty, other’s expectations, and a destiny that has never once cared for them.
Or: Arthur long since expected that one day, he might have to flee Camelot with Merlin. He just never thought that he would be the reason.
