Soulmates AU where people’s eyes all look their normal color to a normal person, but their soulmate sees their eye color differently, based on their mate’s emotions.
Patrick has been hearing about soulmates all his life, and at the age of 21, he already knows there's no one for him.
Pete had heard about the whole soulmate thing before, but it was entirely different experiencing it for himself. It's one thing to hear about seeing swirling colors in your better half's eyes; it's quite another to see them for yourself.
Of course, that does bring up the question... what in the world had done that to Patrick's eyes? -
