Barty helps him write :)“Hey Evan, are you dyslexic?” Barty called out as if it was an ordinary question.
Evan sat up on his bed, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “Dys- what?”
Barty blinked at him for a few seconds, before remembering it was a muggle term. “Oh right, ‘ts something I learnt in muggle studies.” Maybe this wasn’t the best approach as Evan continued to stare at him in confusion. “It’s when you uh- find it difficult to read, spell, and write, despite your intelligence.” Barty tried his best to use the most straightforward definition.

Barty hums, nose brushing against Evan’s. Despite his words, his hand found its way to the back of Barty’s neck, keeping him close.
“Then tell me to stop.”
“You know I won’t."
Evan moves back from France to England after over a decade with very little expectations. He’s never really had any friends and he’s used to people stepping out of his life—why would this time be any different? He’s ready to spend his remaining years at high school alone. Luckily for Evan, a few people don’t seem to let him.

As a kid Evan had always been fascinated with crime shows and podcasts, so much so that he took to writing, at first it was all for fun just a little thing he did to pass the time that was until his sister Pandora found out about it afterwards she pushed him to speak with their cousin who was a publisher he did and his cousin liked it and offered him a contract
And that's how he ended up here; in a room filled with fellow authors, holding an award for best new writer after he had just published his second book,
All of his friends were there offering their congratulations, he lost sight of his sister a while ago, -probably off with her girlfriend- he thought, taking another sip of his drink, if he was being honest all of this; The flashing lights, the fancy clothes, the attention, it was all a little much to him,
All he did was write a few scenes of blood and gore and he got an award, what has this world come to?
Soon everything became a little overwhelming so he made his way outside the venue hoping for a little peace and quiet,
He stared up at the moon, thinking about what his next novel should be about, he was broken from his thoughts by a soft voice.“Want one?”

Sequel (possible triology) of Moonlight on the river. Most read first part beforehand.
Evan Rosier has never had a safe, stable place to live. Of course when he was with the Rosiers, they treated him like familt when they were home, but that wasn't often. Pandora was the closet thing he's had to a sister. Before that, there was always concrete walls and hardly padded beds. There still was that of course, when he had to train or was assigned something at the bases.
But now he was truly free from that, he actually likes it with James. Sure, the man was awkward at times and didn't really know how to Evan supposes, raise a teenager. But Evan doesn't really know how to be a teenager, so maybe they both can learn.
