“Your voice is beautiful, Thoma,” Diluc whispered, moving closer to him — they were facing each other now, so close that Thoma could feel the heat radiating off his best friend, the warmth of his breath on his cold cheeks.
“Thank you, that means so much to me.”
He put an arm around Diluc, pulling him closer until their bodies were flush — Thoma pressed his lips into Diluc’s hair, letting his touch linger for a moment before he leaned down to kiss Diluc’s forehead.
“Stay with me for a moment,” Diluc murmured, eyes fluttering shut. He was already half asleep — Thoma found himself smiling, admiring his best friend’s beauty in the golden light, wondering how he had been so lucky yet so cursed to have someone like him in his life.
I would spend a thousand forevers with you if I could.
(Or: Thoma is in love with his best friend, even when the scales tip in favour of everything that isn't him.)
