Summary
Regardless of what Alhaitham says loneliness wasn’t a comfort, it wasn’t something he chose for himself but a familiar pit in his heart he didn’t care to fill. No one could abandon him if there wasn’t anyone there. Like a great chasm he’d long put a rug over claiming it was there as designed. So he lived a life devoid of interaction and social pressure till he enjoyed the lack of people, underselling his abilities to prevent expectation.

Summary
Dazai had returned from prison, everyone had welcomed him with open arms almost like he had never left. The whole mission left a bad taste in their mouths with the hunting dogs tracking everyone down like they were the vermin, and then the news of Dazai being put in a high-security prison all the way in France- everyone was glad for it to be over. But so much had been unsaid that the tension was boiling over like an unwatched pot, just waiting for someone to open the lid.
