So, he decides “Fuck it! I'll become a god myself, it runs in the family anyway! That'll solve all my problems AND I'll take my old situationship with me for the ride!”
TL;DR version: An OP resist!Durge steadily reverts back to a NE villain but some soft spots (Karlach shaped ones) remain. He's a shit friend, though.

Zenos had made peace with his own demise after fighting alongside the Warrior of Light. He was finally content, he had thought. Other plans have been laid out for him, however; when he reunites with the Warrior of Light once more, he recognizes this as his second chance.
Just one little lie, and perhaps the lingering hole in his heart will finally be filled.

Confused and ignorant to the state of the world, he is swept up by the Imperial Army's mandatory conscription just as their aggressive campaign of expansion kicks into high gear. Unsurprisingly, he lands feet first in the middle of an Ascian's plot the moment he arrives at the capital, and is now trapped in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with Emet-Selch, who definitely recognises who he is...
But the question is: how can the Fourteenth do anything to put a stop to the Ascians' plan for Garlemald? He's very mortal, and Emet-Selch is decidedly... not.
(The answer is: he can't do anything. He tries anyways)

Strangely enough it is signed by two distinct members of the Dead Three’s Chosen, and it seems to have been crumpled and flattened once more.
