    Kaeya has broken the fourth wall a few times (in the game/game dialogue), so i kinda decided to make a little one-shot about it.

    Being the only person who's aware of the game-world around him, he's doing the only realistic thing: brooding about it.
    The fakeness of the entire universe should be slightly depressing, right?

Not just missing, but, according to everyone in Mondstadt, dead - having died protecting his family from Ursa the Drake several years ago. With everyone convinced he has gone mad, Diluc has to uncover what has gone so horribly wrong all on his own.

    Having left the city they grew up in, Kaeya and Diluc traverse across Teyvat in search of a new place to call home.

    Alternatively: Kaeya more or less gets kicked out of Mond by popular demand, and Diluc comes with him. Reconciliation included.
