It’s one way with Luffy. One day, he turns his smile on Zoro, brilliant as the sun. Brilliant as always, so he doesn’t see it coming, really. But Luffy tilts his head, his hands smoothing down the front of Zoro’s shirt, and exclaims, casual as anything. “I’m going to kiss you now!”

It’s another way with Sanji. A curving, curling, and confusing way. Sanji dances into his space. He leans and looms and touches, laughs and winks and changes Zoro’s bandages. Irritates him to no end. The other slinks into the air he breathes and drapes, languid, against the (suddenly too) rigid set of his spine... But he doesn’t say, “I’m going to kiss you now.”

Break the silence - damn the dark, damn the light"The headlights catch the pale trunks of the trees as Zoro rounds the bend in the pitch of the night.
Static clings to the pitch of the song on the radio, and Zoro keeps one hand on the steering wheel as he adjusts the knob to soothe it. The green flash of a mile marker reminds him that his stop is nearing.
The windows are cracked, and the scent of pine wisps into the truck cab. The brackish scent of lakewater follows closely behind, the cold mineral scent of deep water seeping into the air.
Zoro’s wedding ring glints as the headlights reflect on the sign for the trailhead. Gravel crunches beneath the tires as he turns off the road.
He parks askew in the lot and the gears clunk as he jerks the driveshaft into park. -

Tomioka Giyuu, a mere human, is very close to an exile from The Virtuous, an agency founded by angels sworn to protect humans from demons. He gets it: he doesn't pray, he's not really religious at all, and he gradually believes he doesn't fight for the right reasons. But when a demon named Sanemi comes into his life wounded, unwilling to kill him, and with a mission shrouded in mystery, he knows there must be a god at play in all of this.
or, Giyuu doesn't pray to a god. Rather, after some time, he prays to one called Sanemi.
