I know. When Aemond opens his mouth to say it, something like a strangled whimper comes out. At least his feet still work; he stumbles forward, intending to get to his tent before the worst of it hits, except his tent is backwards, and all he accomplishes is crashing into Ser Criston —
Just because the Dance of the Dragons doesn’t happen doesn’t mean the Targaryens won’t find other wars to wage. Aemond is leading an army in the Stepstones when his heat hits, and there’s only one alpha who can give him relief.

Summary
The war is over. Aegon is dead. Blinded, wed and pupped — in that order — Aemond is shackled to Larys Strong as recompense for a bloodline slaughtered at Harrenhal. He's brought back to court, a curiosity and a grotesque, at the same time as Queen Rhaenyra seeks a spouse for the new Prince of Dragonstone, Lucerys.
Aemond wants to burn the Red Keep to the ground. Without the weapons that made him feared during the war, he'll have to find other ways to claw back slivers of power. And Luke? Luke is about to disappoint his mother.
