"You're going to get yourself killed, Matt." Claire had said to him, softly, once she'd finished stitching him up. It wasn't the first time she'd said it, but it was the first time she'd said it like this. It wasn't accusatory, or a warning, this time. It wasn't a lie. Matt would know. The only lies he doesn't notice are his own.
"Yeah," Matt had murmured back, after replaying that horrible night with Foggy over in his head again, after Nobu, remembering it in snapshots, the slamming door, the yelling, "Yeah, I know."
