They stared at the dirty bundle in Daniel’s arms, who was just starting to wake. The little boy rubbed his face into Daniel’s collar, his small hands still around Daniel’s neck. How long had it been, Jack wondered, since someone had held him while he slept?
"We have medicine, lots of it, on our planet," Jack said. "I’m sure we can cure him. If we did, would a family take him in?”
“Let us try,” Daniel said. “Let us at least try.”
