Summary
After an anger-driven confrontation goes awry, Bucky is given the opportunity of a lifetime — a second chance at what he so stupidly let slip away from him. But it seems there’s more going on in Steve’s head than Bucky anticipated, and it’s going to take more than a fancy monologue and a few shed tears to regain what he lost.
One thing’s for sure, though — he let Steve go once, and mark his words, he won’t make that mistake again.

Summary
Figuratively, of course. It’s all just figurative. His parents’ growing ignorance is figurative. His relationship with El slipping away from him is just figurative. Hell, apparently his worry that the Party is growing apart is just figurative. It’s figurative. It’s fake. It’s not real and it never will be.

Summary
Yearning for someone else’s love, he knows, is nothing but a recipe for disaster. He discovered this in the bathroom at the Halloween party all that time ago, (was it even that long ago?) when Nancy called him and their entire relationship bullshit. He discovered it when he found out Nancy and Jonathan had slept together before she’d even broken up with him. He discovered it when Nancy couldn’t tell him she loved him, when she couldn’t say the words he’d longed to hear for so long. The words no one had ever told him.

Summary
But him? He was just regular old Steve Harrington, the kids’ chauffeur and part-time babysitter, and the one who had only even been there to experience half of the things everyone else had. He didn't have the right to feel traumatized. Hell, the only remotely “traumatizing” thing he’d gone through was Billy smashing a plate on his head, and that had been one time. One measly thing compared to the dozens of the others.

He closes his eyes, and to his relief, it’s easy. It’s the easiest thing he’s ever done.
On May 18, 2000, after being confronted with the options of rehab or getting fired, John Carter makes a different choice. It's a way worse choice. An alternate ending to May Day where Carter OD's instead.

Summary
He follows her up the front steps and into the house, where she instructs him to take off his shoes and nudge them into the pile of her own sneakers and boots.
"So. Your room is upstairs, and your bathroom is across the hall from it," she says as they walk down the hallway and into the living room. "The kitchen is right through that doorway, and my room is down there, with my bathroom."
Whitaker takes everything in, his eyes flitting all over the place. She does the same, a little glad she'd cleaned up most of the clutter a few days ago.
"It's…" he starts, clearly trying to find the words. "It's really nice."
"Definitely better than a hospital room," she replies.
Whitaker manages a grin. He's carrying a backpack and a duffel, neither of them very full, and the bags under his eyes seem to get darker by the minute. Despite the hell of a shift they just left, he's still standing, looking a bit lost. There's something about him that pulls at her interest—she wants to take a ten-blade and slice from neck to belly, just to see what's going on in there.
Metaphorically, of course.

Summary
When Dennis leans over a man brought in for drunkenness, shaking his shoulder and, when that gets no response, moving to a sternal rub, he is completely blindsided by the elbow which connects with his brow bone, knocking him to the floor in an undignified heap and causing him to glance his head off the arm of a plastic chair on the way down. And Jack, God help him, is still in the corridor struggling with a pair of gloves.
--
Dennis gets punched by a patient. Jack helps out as best he can in the aftermath.
