Victor’s laugh was sharp and mirthful. "You’re always so forgiving. So naïve." His eyes darkened.
Reed felt a chill crawl up his spine. He opened his mouth to respond, but the sound of hurried footsteps outside the dorm interrupted him. A moment later, their classmate, Harold, burst into the room, cradling his hand against his chest. He wore a bulky cast that restricted movement in his hand.
"Richards!" Harold shouted, his voice shaking with pain and fury. "Your lunatic friend broke my hand!"
Reed’s eyes widened in horror. "What? Victor, is this true?"
