Summary
Instead of Shane, it is Ilya who suffers a concussion during the Boston-Montreal game in April 2017. Dazed and agitated, Ilya briefly starts speaking and responding only in Russian and the medics can’t calm him down. Luckily, Shane started studying Russian after Ilya spoke to him in Russian on the phone from Moscow. For no particular reason. Certainly not because he’s fallen in love with Ilya Rozanov.
In Montreal with lingering concussion symptoms, Ilya is advised not to fly home for a few days, and the hospital won’t release him without assurances that he has someone to stay with him until his symptoms improve. Luckily, Shane conveniently has a condo in Montreal no one knows about and a few days before he has to travel again.
But Ilya’s symptoms don’t resolve after a few days. Which is okay; Shane can handle it. He can take care of Ilya, study Russian, lead his team into the playoffs, and keep Ilya’s continued presence in Montreal a secret. He can do everything, no problem. He is Shane Hollander after all.

“Do you really wanna measure this, Buck? Here, against us?” Chimney looked around, and his grin faded immediately. “I mean, talk about surviving...”
He left the rest unspoken. The scar beneath Eddie's right collarbone flared up in a way it hadn't for months.
“I still can't believe you did that,” Natalia said. “That's so cool.”--
Eddie confronts Buck, has a realization in the middle of an argument, and just when he thinks it can't get worse, he gets a call from Texas that pulls the ground from beneath his feet, figuratively spoken. (The universe is watching. If the two firefighters don't get their act together, the next collapse will be the literal kind.)

Summary
In the mornings, Abby and Jake would take Clarke out to do something in town, and Aurora would take Octavia and Bellamy. The afternoons were often spent together, and in the evenings, the two families would convene in the gardens, and have dinner together. The adults might drink a little and Clarke would take Bellamy down to the water and teach him to swim.
The Griffins spend every summer in their house by the lake. This year, they have some new neighbours, and Clarke is taken pretty quickly with the freckled boy next door.
