Summary
At 118 Elementary, Buck is the passionate science teacher who lights up every room, and Eddie is the steady, quietly intense PE coach who never lets anyone get too close.
They’re colleagues, friends, and maybe—just maybe—on the verge of something more.
Between staff meetings, shared coffee, and the soft chaos of school life, they find themselves learning a new kind of lesson: how to let someone in, one vulnerable moment at a time.
A slow-burn school AU full of heart, longing, and the kind of love you don’t see coming until it’s already yours. -

Summary
Eddie Diaz has a secret. Not the “in love with Buck” one (though, sure, that’s festering too). No, this one comes with fur, whiskers, and an unsettling eagerness to use his shifted form for petty psychological warfare.
Because Buck? He’s afraid of cats. Something about “the staring” and “they’re plotting to steal my soul”. Eddie, being the picture of maturity, reacts by shifting into a cat and showing up everywhere. Buck’s door. The firehouse. His balcony. In his laundry. Just…watching.
Eddie is thriving. Chris is an evil mastermind. And Buck spirals, convinced the cat is haunting him, gifting him presents, and slowly gnawing at his sanity. This is not a pet-owner dynamic. This is a hostage situation with emotional manipulation from a four-legged gremlin.
Everything’s flawless - until Eddie forgets he’s not supposed to be naked in Buck’s apartment. At least, not like that.
Oops.

Summary
Eddie Diaz isn't an obsessive man. But it starts with Buck's hands -their capability, their gentleness. Then it's his biceps, his thighs, the softness of his belly, the strength of his chest. Eddie finds himself cataloging every movement, every flex, consumed by a specific, aching want for the safety Buck offers so freely.
or: Eddie develops a problem. It's approximately 6'2", built like a superhero, and keeps falling asleep on his couch.
or or: 5 parts of Buck's body that drive Eddie insane with want, and 1 time he finally gets to have them all. -

Summary
“I’ll do whatever you want, just, please.” Buck sobs out the last word, eyes burning with unshed tears.
“A vow.” The man leans uncomfortably close to Buck. The knife brushes against his neck, lightly scratching across the top layer of Buck’s skin. The man’s cold blue eyes hold Buck’s full attention. “That’s what I require. Sell me your allegiance.”
Buck stares back at the killer, unable to fully process what is being asked of him. He sees a flash of anger dance in the stranger’s gaze. He's impatient. Unpredictable. Fear pours into Buck's chest as he realizes he might not get a second chance at this. He has to make this count. “I vow to give you complete control over the remainder of my life. My body is yours to destroy—so long as you let my sister live and return safely to her family.”
__
Or, After Eddie leaves for Texas, Buck goes to seek comfort from his sister and walks in on her kidnapping. In order to save Maddie's life, Buck offers up his instead. Unintentionally agreeing to something worse than death.

Summary
Eddie freezes at the doorway, tray in hand, the voices drifting from inside stopping him cold.
“Oh, your stepdad doesn’t live with you?” Mark asks, gesturing to a framed photo of Buck and Christopher.
There’s a beat of silence—too long, too loaded.Eddie’s heart stutters, thudding hard against his ribs as he waits, breath held. God's really decided to test him today.
Then Christopher answers, casually, like it’s the easiest thing in the world. “No… he lives in L.A.”
or Eddie overhears a conversation between Christopher and his friend, then proceeds to spiral about being in love with Buck while also being insanely jealous of 118's new recruit

Summary
Eddie squints at the back of his friend’s head. Gets distracted by the fact that Buck’s hair is getting just a little too long, the way it curls just so at the nape of his neck. Considers throwing away every pair of scissors he owns and running every barber in the city out of business.
“I’m… cursed?”
“Yeah!” Buck says. “But don’t worry. I’ve done some research and I brought some supplies.” He holds up the backpack, shaking it a little. Something within rattles ominously.
(or, eddie diaz is cursed.) -

Summary
Taylor Kelly knew she was probably a shitty person. But most people were shitty people, so she wasn't the only one. Whatever. She had the dirt, and she was often petty, so she could have easily published the book she wrote about the 118 and Buck's life as a firefighter. But that wasn't what she wanted to be known for. She wanted people to be obsessed with her and her writing, her story telling, not just her ability to manipulate and present information in alarming ways. She still works on stories, on getting air time, but she's a little out of her depth. She doesn't exactly know how to blend in seamlessly everywhere she wants to go to get the bigger stories. Except she knows someone who can and has blended in seamlessly nearly everywhere they went. He wasn't petty, either. He always left that to her or Eddie Diaz. It's fine. It is. Because Buck would honestly just show up to see what the hell she was up to.
She just wasn't exactly prepared for him to look so good and be the friend she had been needing. In all honesty, though, Buck was a fantastic wingman.

Summary
It starts with Buck saying, "I've been seeing someone." Someone older. Someone at the 118. Someone who wants to keep it a secret.
Eddie's brain, a notorious traitor, immediately presents him with two horrifying options: their Captain Bobby Nash, or his brother-in-law, Chimney. The logic is airtight. His resulting (and highly misguided) investigation is derailed by a Buckley family dinner from hell, a son who's too smart for his own good, and the terrifying realization that the person he's most jealous of isn't Buck's mystery man... it's the idea of anyone being with Buck at all.or: The one where Eddie is a disaster bisexual and a very bad detective, Chris is a tiny, vengeful god, and Buck just wants someone to love him.
