“Put an end to you?” Derek said, a final triumphant grin stretched across his face.
“I already told you, Little Lord. Why would I put the instructions to my demise within my own domain?” The voice cooed. Derek froze, and the grin slipped off of his face.
“What?” He asked, his voice small. He won, didn't he? The King had panicked when Derek recited the spell, hadn't It?
“You were never bait for Avery. He was bait for you. The mind is not so easily turned unusable for my purposes. I wanted you to find that book. I wanted your curiosity and selflessness to lead you to ME, over, and over, and over again. And then, I wanted you to let me in.”

He never bothered about Noli's sexuality until now, so why is this happening? Was he only comfortable with gay people when they weren't being gay around him? Did he developed homophobia only towards Noli? He didn't want to hurt his friend, so how could he get rid of these thoughts?
