He looked around, scanning the place with narrowed eyes. The trailer was small – there wasn’t really anywhere to hide.
Nowhere to run, either.
There was a clink from the kitchenette, like someone setting a spoon down in a cup, and then a familiar mop of dark hair emerged from behind the cupboard doors.
Fucking hell.
It was Harrington.
Billy is working himself to the bone at the garage while still healing from his near-death experience at Starcourt. At first, he assumes Steve Harrington is hanging out with him because he pities Billy for how far he's fallen since high school - but as his friendship with Steve develops, it brings up feelings Billy thought he'd long since stamped out. There's no way Steve could feel the same. Is there?

“You said you still dream of what happened, don’t you?” Robin’s voice was soft as she knocked the toes of her sneakers together. “About Billy at the mall. When he died.”
Steve pressed his lips together and nodded. He had confided in her once after coming into work with deep set circles under his eyes. He hadn’t slept in days it felt like, his mind constantly replaying what happened each time he closed his eyes.
Robin pushed herself off the counter and turned toward the stack of videos, picking up the scanner. “I’m just saying Steve, you said you didn’t really understand Billy. And you don’t know why you still dream of what happened. Maybe the answer is inside that box.”

Thanks to Max, Steve becomes the keeper of Billy Hargrove's things after he dies in Starcourt and learns more than he ever thought he would about his old rival. It doesn't take long for Steve to realize that maybe he was wrong about Billy, which begs the question: how should he feel now?Series
