When the offer of a sudden business trip came up, Iris was one of the few who volunteered to attend. This opportunity arose right during the holidays, and Victoria herself was the primary guest. The combination of those two elements wasn't very popular with her peers, who respected Victoria but were very intimidated by her.
For Iris, the choice was simple. She despised the holidays, and any work sounded better than spending her time at her parents' home. Yet in her excitement to get away from her toxic family, she missed the details of the place that she and Victoria would need to travel to.
"Christmas Cove, that silly place that's all about the holidays and is featured in every Christmas TV special?" Iris asked again, unable to hide the disgust at having to go there.
