Sirius Black is back on the threshold of the place he swore he would never return to. Standing on the stairs outside of 12 Grimmauld Place with his former headmaster, Sirius feels more alone than ever before. Everywhere he’s gone and everyone he’s seen since he left Harry at the end of the Triwizard Tournament have reminded Sirius of the James-sized gap in his life.
This is no different.
James had always promised he’d be there for Sirius when he faced his family and yet some promises cannot be held. Sirius must face his first prison without his best friend. But Dumbledore knows that those we’ve lost never truly leaves us.
