Summary
In the days leading up to the first time Shane Hollander faces his old Montreal team with the Ottawa Centaurs, he kinda goes through it. Maybe a lot of bullshit built up over the years. Maybe now that he's finally in a place to deal with it, he starts to.
Featuring my beloved Centaurs taking care of their own, a couple of very early mornings, a minor meltdown at practice, a slightly bigger meltdown at a barbecue, and one Shane Hollander finally coming home.

Summary
“Game is over,” he says. “You won. I lost. I was annoying. Normal.”
“That’s not—” Shane starts, then stops, because he actually doesn't know how to finish that thought without sounding like an idiot. His jaw works, teeth grinding together.
That's not what I meant. That's not the point. You said I was boring and you were right and I need you to say it again so I know where I stand, so I know what you think of me, so I can stop waiting for the other shoe to drop.
He settles for: “You were kind of an asshole.”

Summary
"Why are you not scared?"
"I am scared," Ilya admits. "I just am tired. Of hiding me. Of hiding you. Of hiding how much I love you. I want to go to the rink— how do you say it? Authenti."
"Authentically," Shane supplies, automatically.
"Yes. Authentically. I want to go to the rink authentically, as me," Ilya confirms.
Ilya looks at Shane, pauses until Shane meets his eyes. "I want to say: I, Ilya Rozanov love a man, and that man's name is Shane Hollander."

Summary
"Troy," Roz said, "We are on deserted island."
"We're probably just in the Keys."
"In the Keys on deserted island, yes! Fuck!" Rozanov said. Barrett was startled by the outburst; Rozanov's shoulders dropped. He was still flipping his phone around in his hands. "Sorry. Fuck."
"Wow. Did you just apologize for something?"
Rozanov kicked a rock.
"It could be a lot worse," Barrett said. "I mean, imagine if you'd been stuck out here with Boston, you guys would've already killed each other. Lord of the Flies style."

Summary
Ilya doesn’t know how to be handled this way. He wants to step back, to chalk it up to Shane Hollander simply being a very nice guy, but he knows this is tenderness, and that’s not what’s between them.
Ilya Rozanov has never belonged to anyone but himself. An Ilya character study, tracing canon events.
