They discuss their research until the fifteen minute mark, at which point Caleb’s hand finds its way atop Essek’s knee. Twenty minutes, and it’s traveled to his thigh. Twenty-five, and Essek begins to thread his fingers through the ends of Caleb’s hair, twice as scandalous.
Twenty-nine minutes and fifty-seven seconds. Fifty-eight. Fifty-nine.
“I think it is likely our friends have settled–”
“Good.”
Then Caleb climbs halfway into Essek’s lap and is dragged the rest of the way, and this is what he’s been itching for all day.

Summary
While on a mission post-Predathos, Orym suffers a grievous injury. Seedling's magic can heal him, but Ashton will have to go to extreme lengths to get it back - and it soon becomes clear that he lost more than just his arm in the fight. Orym, Dorian and Ashton lean on each other for reassurance in the aftermath.
(If I had a nickel for every time Orym lost and regrew a limb in one of my fics, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t much, but it sure is weird that it happened twice. But then they had to go and canonically give Seedling the ability to restore severed body parts. What was I supposed to do, really?)
