  Summary

  This is, potentially, the most embarrassing moment of Layla’s entire academic career. No—of her life. She doesn’t mean to be dramatic. She doesn’t want to blow things out of proportion. God forbid she makes a scene out of this and makes everything worse.

  The shower shuts off in the other room. She is once again forced to confront the fact she, apparently, has a roommate on this Archons-forsaken trip. An unwilling roommate. An unwilling, stoic, very attractive roommate.

  Summary

  Polnareff has never liked taking the easy way out. It’s a problem that he chooses to see as a bonus, because it leads him to places he couldn’t possibly have dreamed of getting to without the utter audacity he seemed to have been born with. He’s bold. He’s daring. He’s adventurous.
  He is taking his final steps out of his home, alone, without even alerting his father that he may not be coming back.

  Homesickness and doubt haunt Polnareff as he embarks on his travels. A deck of tarot cards, surprisingly, becomes his solution.

  Summary

  There’s no time.

  They’ve said those words a million times before, scrambling around backstage to get ready. There’s no time to finish their makeup, no time to make sure their shoes are tied tightly and to check if the orchestra is ready and if they’re all in their positions and make sure the audience is all seated. There is never any time, but they—the girls backstage, the director, the conductor—always manage to find some, impossibly, in the seconds that are lost between the music beginning and the curtain rising.

  But now there is truly no time for Cassiopeia Clay, and no hope of eking out a spare few seconds.

  Summary

  It was with a great amount of dismay that Rosaria would admit she was sort of getting invested in this whole nun business.
  She would absolutely not be telling any of the other members of the clergy that fact. She would much rather hear them pestering her about being more pious and having better manners than listen to them cooing over her and her newfound love of Barbatos. She was not invested in any of the goings-on of the church for any reason related to Archons or their supposed ways of helping citizens. If an Archon was going to come down and help Mondstadt, they surely would’ve done it by now. Instead, it’s always been the normal mortals that have had to clean up all the messes they’ve gotten themselves into.
