Telling the truth could take a lot out of a person, especially when it was about your past, and double especially when you had to explain why your past was so, well, short. Still, Molly had gone to bed feeling pretty decent, all things considered. He should have known that bringing up those memories, or lack thereof, would have consequences though, might trigger some things.

Carefully, he brings an arm around Molly's waist, pressing closer, and Molly hums softly and pulls him in. He feels warm, and not just from the natural warmth of tiefling skin; it's something deeper, right in his chest, that makes the buzzing feeling fade to just warmth and comfort and makes his breath catch. He's trying not to think too hard about it, but he knows deep down that with the others this feeling wouldn't be there. It'd be comfort, sure, but not this overwhelming knot in his chest, trying to form words that he knows he can't say.
Caleb has a bad sensory overload day. Molly somehow knows just what he needs.

Or, Mollymauk and Caleb have only recently decided to try out a romantic relationship. One night early on, Molly discovers that Caleb is asexual.
It's still pretty easy to make things work from there. One of the hardest parts of a romance can be finding out how to define it, after all. Once they know where the lines are drawn, that only makes it easier to know how best to give each other what they need.

As time passed Molly began to realise that Caleb wasn’t as defenceless as he’d once thought. It was subtle, but the human had an armour all of his own. It wasn’t made of metal and leather, or anything that would keep him alive in battle, instead his armour was the mud rubbed into his coat, the filth that covered his skin and the aroma that had most people shrinking away from the wizard.
In which Molly watches and learns, and waits for a chance to touch the man hidden beneath.
