"Huh?" Shane blinked.
"I know you've been to gay club in L.A. before. Where did you go?"
Shane flushed as he finally caught on. It hadn't even occurred to Shane that he had, technically, done the gay club thing at least once before, just not with Ilya. Of course Ilya wouldn't forget that fact, and it suddenly made a lot more sense why he'd chosen L.A. for this little expedition.

At the opposite end of the sofa, Hollander is pretending to watch Miley Cyrus roll about in a field in a white lace bikini, as if he can’t feel Ilya’s eyes on him from the other side of a crowded function room, let alone from three feet away.
“Hollander,” Ilya says, low, and lets it linger. “What are you afraid of?”
He’s all hot indignation then, slugging back the last of his drink, depositing the glass, stalking over.
“You heard what I said. Clothes stay on for ninety minutes. No fucking until after dark.”
Ilya makes a noise of surprise. “Then you are afraid of what I will do to you with your clothes still on?”
“Asshole,” Hollander replies, but he’s already got a knee on the sofa when he says it.

When Ilya says he can’t come to the cottage, Shane doesn’t sit back and wait for Fate to step in. Oh no. He wages a campaign to change Ilya’s mind, using the weapons he has to hand.
