Summary
Life had already broken him more than once and forced him to change his understanding of the world and himself, in particular. It always happened suddenly and was difficult, accompanied by painful doubts and denial. And now, once again, his belief in his own invulnerability had cracked, which meant it was time to go through all the stages of acceptance until he would be forced to admit that one fair-haired traveler had planted roots in him too deeply.

Summary
For 500 years, Aether was completely focused on orchestrating the fall of Celestia, so much so that he never quite questioned what would come after. He knew he didn’t need to because it would be as it always had been: he and Lumine would depart quickly, moving on to bigger and better things in another world and leaving the complications of Teyvat far behind.
This was not the case.
Never did he expect the part after the journey to be so difficult. And it was all the fault of a certain Abyss-tainted harbinger that could and should not be trusted.
