Despite herself, Sophie smiled into the phone. She was grateful Margo couldn’t see it. “I’ve tried it all, really. It’s no use.” She said, her voice a little lighter than before—less serious. It was nice, talking to her. Or, rather, listening to her talk. Margo’s voice had always been good at soothing her, and bringing her back down to earth.

Summary
When Natalie first sought Misty out, she thought she was going to have to murder her. She’d planned it out on the way to her house. There was no way in hell it wasn’t her who sent that fucking postcard. When the door swung open, Misty walked through like a vision, and looked at her like she fully expected Nat to be there.
The second time, Natalie rehearsed her apology over and over again in the car. Ironically, she needed Misty this time, and although she didn’t forgive her, she was the only one who’d know how to clean up the mess Shauna made. What Natalie didn’t expect was for her breath to be stolen right from her lungs when Misty opened the door once again, looking like something out of her wildest dreams. Every word she’d rehearsed died on her tongue, and was replaced with something even more pathetic—a compliment.
This time, Misty was coming to her, and who knew what the hell was gonna happen next? Natalie never spent time with her alone without a good reason. Maybe it wasn’t too late to call and tell her to stay home after all. Quickly, she unlocked her phone and searched for the familiar contact.
