“So can we keep him?”
‘Grunkle Stan’ sighs heavily. “Kid, he’s literally a lump on the ground.”
“So? We’ve all been lumps on the ground at one point or another,” Mabel counters, which is a very good point in Jon’s opinion.

Summary
It’s a strange dichotomy, being suspended in the air and yet unable to fly.
Agent feels it down through their hollow bones. There’s no gravity in space, and the casual weightlessness is…strange. It’s not like flying at all, but their feet aren’t touching the ground. Their Source is the sky, the atmosphere around the Earth, and in that regard, Agent is totally fine. The difference between the ground and the sky is quite the same between the sky and low orbit, so there’s no gaping void in their chest.
It’s just— strange.

Jonathan Sims has a secret, which really isn’t all that surprising. Everyone has secrets, everyone has troubled pasts, and everyone has things that they’d really rather hide.
In no place does this come into play more often than in the Crew of the Starship Aurora, who happen to be Jon’s secret in the first place.
or, an AU where a mishap with an eldritch entity leads the Mechanisms to being...somewhat entangled in the life of one Jonathan Sims.

Summary
"Yes, well,” he says, and doesn’t continue. It doesn’t matter, he thinks to himself. Agents don’t usually have a survival rate of more than eight months, and this one will probably…expire before they even notice that the Handler can’t understand a word of what they’re saying. He may as well send them on their first case, prove their mettle or…the other thing.
(The Handler’s breath leaves him, for a second, before forcefully willing the tension from his body.)
He sends the record on its way.

Michael is terrified.
no. That is incorrect. Michael is always terrified, and in this way it becomes the norm—a low level sickness of sorts, in every shaking hand, in every quick glance to make sure no one’s looking.Michael is terrified.
it can feel the fractal-spiral-angular-swirling mess of thoughts in what it might have called a brain, perhaps, if it had an identity to begin with. It does not, it lies to itself, and thus perpetuates its own horror.Michael is terrified.
But it wasn’t like there was any other option.Title from the mind electric because it is the quintessential distortion song and you cannot tell me otherwise

Summary
It's been almost thirty years since Shifty crawled out of the lab like a zombie rising from the grave, since Stanford Pines fell beyond their reach. Thirty years of almost nightly work on a portal that refused to obey their and Stan's commands, no matter what they did. Thirty years since the start of the Mystery Shack and Shifty's alter ego, the unlikeable co-manager of said Shack. Hope is starting to wear thin, and frustration is running high.
But when a pair of twins begin to stumble upon the mysteries of the town, there might be something left to find after, be they solutions or secrets. Secrets that might as easily destroy Shifty as they could save them.

Summary
It was one of those concrete facts of life, the sort of thing you forget about because you’ve lived with it your whole existence and didn’t know anything different. Gravity was trying to pull you to the center of the earth, sweet things tasted good but made your teeth fall out and your body rebel against you, and Dipper could see dead people.
*** *** ***
Dipper Pines has long resigned himself to a life of fear and anxiety, waiting for the next horrific ghost around the corner, a beast only he could see. But the ghosts in Gravity Falls are different from the ghosts back home, in more way than he could have ever imagined.
And there's a ghost with secrets he never expected just waiting to be discovered in the shack.

Summary
Most people who were unlucky enough to meet Jonathan Sims assumed he had no friends. This was true, up to a point two months after Jon became a researcher at the Magnus Institute: afterwards Jon had no friends, except for Sasha James.

“It is a connection to family.” She says at some point. “The sight of a Vulcan woman’s hair unconstrained is reserved for mates and familiar relatives only. With the slight constant mental connection between all Vulcans, this is one way of maintaining privacy.”
Kirk smiles lightly. “I bet it must feel nice then, going to visit your family. You get to put your hair down, relax a bit.”
“Vulcans do not feel anything, Captain.” Spock replies.
He is wrong in other ways. She does not correct them.

Summary
While dealing with combat bots and a communication breakdown on an abandoned station, everyone's favorite SecUnit encounters an away team of some unidentifiable humans and their SecUnit. Oddly enough, the symbol of the corporation they belong to is one it doesn't recognize: a weird kind of triangle shape they wear on their colored uniforms.
