Summary
Johanna skids to a halt when she almost runs right into Finnick, who beams at her.
“Beetee? Wiress?” He asks.
“On the island,” Johanna breathes out. “You got her and Peeta?”
“He’s drowning right now,” Finnick grins, tossing his head to the side. “But yeah, I got them. Duck.”
Johanna does, and Finnick leaps over her, and Johanna hears someone falling into the water.
No cannon this time.
Johanna sighs, spinning around to block a Victor’s sword with her axe. Finnick rushes to kick him in the side, which sends him tumbling into the water.
“Okay,” Johanna sighs again, giving him a look. “I gotta go.”
“I know, so do I,” Finnick sighs back. Johanna gives him a very quick one-armed hug, nodding at him. “Okay. Go. I’ll get them.”
“I’ll see you in a bit, Finnick,” Johanna confirms. “Stay alive.”
Finnick grins at her. “You know I will. You too.”
“Always.”
